Points from London 2012 Olympics to be added to WTA rankings
The ITF/WTA ranking point agreement was announced on Feb 16/2011.
The breakdown of points reads as follows in Singles:
- 685 Gold Medal (vs. 750 for ATP)
- 470 Silver Medal (vs. 450 for ATP)
- 340 Bronze Medal (vs. 340 for ATP)
- 260 Fourth place (vs. 270 for ATP)
- 175 QFs (vs. 135 for ATP)
- 95 Round 3 (vs. 70 for ATP)
- 55 Round 2 (vs. 35 for ATP)
- 1 Round 1 (vs. 5 for ATP)
Points are to be compared with other events on the WTA tour. Hereafter the points attributed to the Winner, the Finalist, and the Semi-finalists on selected events:

Can anyone explain why there are no ranking points awarded for doubles or mixed?
